Do you have any holiday homes for sale?

  • Yes. You can take a look here, but we often don’t list everything we have available. Many of our stock holiday homes are sold before they arrive. We do have a number of new static caravans on order and are happy to share these details with you.
  • Bespoke lodges can be ordered for 2024. We have a new 51′ x 22′  Maes Mynan Lodge for sale, which is available to view now, and we have a bespoke Wessex Omar Lodge available to view.

What sort of security do you have on-site or at the entrance to Maes Mynan Park?

  • We have a range of security in place at Maes Mynan Park because we believe in offering peace of mind to holiday homeowners when they are not staying on site.
  • We have iron gates set in stone walls at the separate entrances of both the lodge park and the static caravan park – on opposite sides of the unclassified county highway. Behind the iron gates is a barrier that currently works on a fob system.
  • We also have recording cameras working 24/7 at the entrance and on the reception office building. The cameras are located to capture the entrance and road both in daylight hours and at night.
  • The office is situated at the entrance and overlooks both lodge and static caravan park entrances.

What sort of security do you have on-site or at the entrance to Misty Waters Holiday Park?

  • We have a range of security in place at Misty Waters Holiday Park to offer peace of mind to holiday homeowners when they are not staying on site.
  • We have a barrier system that limits access to the Park.
  • Furthermore, we also have recording cameras working 24/7 at the entrance, around the Park and refuse skip area, as well as on the reception office building.

Are there any other amenities on Acorn Leisure Holiday Parks, or do you have any planned?

  • Maes Mynan Park is set in over 100 acres of countryside and it is adjacent to woodlands that have public footpaths running through them.
  • We have creating easy to use paths for circuit walks on Maes Mynan Park.
  • Both the lodge park and static caravan park overlook the Clwydian Range (a designated area of outstanding natural beauty – AONB), which offers ample opportunities to explore.
  • Caerwys, as the smallest town in the UK with a royal Charter, has 2 shops, a butcher, post office, pharmacy, dog groomers, vets, café, a pub.
  • Caerwys is within walking distance of Maes Mynan Park on a safe off road woodland public footpath (takes 20 mins to walk, 5 mins by car).

  • There will be no shops or bars on any of our Holiday Parks.
  • For outdoor adventure, there are other opportunities for outside independent specialists to develop tours and skills based on holiday homeowners wants and desires.
  • We are always seeking out businesses who will support our holiday homeowners locally and we add them to our website when we find them here.
  • Misty Waters Holiday Park has an 6 acre amenity filed for dog walking or ball games.
  • Ty Bont Caravan Park is located in an AONB and there are many off Park walking opportunities.

What are the pitch fees and expenses for lodges at Maes Mynan Park?

  • 2025 Season £4760 plus VAT.
  • Water, gas & electricity is all metered, so you pay for what you use. VAT is payable on all amenities. Charges are subject to fuel price fluctuations. We use an external consultant to source the best possible electricity price for our Holiday Homeowners.
  • 2025 – Gas standing charge approx. £50 plus Vat p.a & contribution towards refuse skip approx. £100 plus Vat p.a.

What are the pitch fees and expenses for chalets at Misty Waters Holiday Park?

  • 2025 Season £3,560 plus VAT.
  • Water, gas & electricity is all metered, so you pay for what you use. VAT is payable on all amenities. Charges are subject to fuel price fluctuations. We use an external consultant to source the best possible electricity price for our Holiday Homeowners.
  • 2025 – Gas standing charge approx. £50 plus Vat p.a & contribution towards refuse skip approx. £100 plus Vat p.a.

Is there an extra cost for certain Holiday Home plots?

  • No. However, there are only a limited number of plots available, and we operate on a first come, first served basis, allowing holiday homeowners to choose their favourite plots.
  • Our stock lodges and static caravans may already be sited on key plots with decking, in which case they are sold on their plots.
  • Availability of plots and caravans is limited on Misty Waters Holiday Park, and it is best to call 07771801951 for up-to-date availability.
  • As Maes Mynan Park is a new development, there are more plots available, but these are available on a first come basis. To find out more, please call 07836522444 or 07917876819.
  • Availability at Ty Bont is very limited as it is currently full, but for up-to-date information it is best to call 07771801951.

Are you dog friendly?

  • Yes, we are dog friendly.
  • We believe that well-behaved dogs should always join their families on holiday.
  • We ask that all dogs are kept on a lead in the public areas of the park, especially around Holiday Homes, at all times.
  • There are exercise areas for well controlled dogs to run and play away from holiday homes, including an amenity field and at Maes Mynan Park, woodland.
  • Dogs can not be left unaccompanied in the Park grounds at any time.
  • All dog fouling must be collected and disposed of hygienically.
  • Dogs should not be allowed to bark incessantly.
  • Dogs should have public liability insurance and when they are in residence, they are the total responsibility of the holiday homeowner.
  • All dogs are the total responsibility of their owners and if they are guests of a holiday homeowner, then they too are responsible for their welfare and behaviour whilst on Park.

Can Family use my Holiday Home?

  • Yes, as long as we are informed of your family or friend’s stay details. This is to maintain security and the peace of mind of your fellow Holiday Homeowners.

Can I rent out my Holiday Home?

  • No. Acorn Leisure Holiday Parks are exclusively for Holiday Homeowners  only. That means there are no rentals or sub-letting on any of our Holiday Parks. This is to maintain security and the peace of mind of your fellow Holiday Homeowners. A breach of the ‘No Rental – No Sub-letting’  rule will lead to you being asked to leave the Park with your Holiday Home.

How long is your holiday season?

  • Maes Mynan Park, Misty Waters Holiday Park and The Oaks Touring Caravan Park have the benefit of  a 12-month holiday season.

Can I live in my holiday home on an Acorn Leisure Holiday Park?

  • No. All Acorn Leisure Holiday Park’s are licensed as holiday parks with Flintshire County Council. Maes Mynan Park and Misty Waters Holiday Park, are therefore, not residential Parks, which means that you must have a permanent address elsewhere for which you are registered to:- (1) receive your post, (2) vote from, as you are on the electoral role at that address and (3) your Doctor knows you at that address.
  • As a Holiday Park, you can spend as much holiday time as you wish in your holiday home, on the understanding that it is just that – a Holiday Home.

Is there an age restriction on Static Caravans?

  • Yes. 20 years from date of manufacture.
  • Thereafter, on a year by year basis at the discretion of management and subject to the static caravan’s condition.

What is the licence period for holiday lodges at Maes Mynan Park?

  • 35 years from date of manufacture, unless otherwise agreed with management at time of purchase.
  • Thereafter, on a year by year basis at the discretion of management.

Can I create my very own lodge on Maes Mynan Park?

  • Yes within constraints. We work with a number of lodge manufacturers so that you may customise a design or create a new lodge from scratch.
  • As choice can be overwhelming, we help you on that journey step by step.
  • Once you have decided on your Maes Mynan Park lodge plot and have paid a 10% deposit to reserve it, we will then be able to send your instructions to the manufacturer of your choice to create the full CAD drawing and Spec sheet for your amendment and final approval. The 10% deposit is calculated on the approximate base price of the lodge you choose. Once the full specification has been compiled you will know how much each addition is to your bespoke, or customised lodge and this is added to the base price we will have already given you. The next instalment for your lodge will be 50% of the final price at the time of order. The balance for your lodge will become due and payable 14 days before dispatch.
  • Transport, siting and connection will be an additional cost as will the decking and should be included in your budget for a bespoke or customised lodge.

What are the pitch fees and expenses for Ty Bont Caravan Park?

  • 2025 Season £2,200 plus VAT.
  • Electricity is metered, so you pay for what you use. VAT is payable on all amenities. Charges are subject to fuel price fluctuations. We use an external consultant to source the best possible electricity price for our Holiday Homeowners.
  • Water, gas & electricity is all metered, so you pay for what you use. VAT is payable on all amenities. Charges are subject to fuel price fluctuations. We use an external consultant to source the best possible electricity price for our Holiday Homeowners.

How does it work if I want to sell my Holiday Home on any of the Acorn Leisure Holiday Parks?

  • We will help you sell your Holiday Home, should you decide to leave one of our Holiday Parks, and wish to sell it on its plot. This is subject to any licence period left on your Holiday Home.
  • You can also advertise your own Holiday Home for sale, but all sales will need to come through us.
  • You may decide to move, relocate or sell your Holiday Home off Park. This will incur a disconnection charge of £550 plus VAT. There maybe additional expenses for you to consider when deciding whether to sell or move your Holiday Home off Park, e.g. dismantling decking, crane hire, reinstating the garden.
  • Any sale of your Holiday Home on its Plot on any Acorn Leisure Holiday Park, will be subject to a 15% plus VAT commission charge, which is the industry standard.
  • Any up-to-date pitch fees paid at the time of sale will not be reimbursed and can not be transferred to any new buyer.
  • If you are considering selling your holiday home, it is important to come and see us as soon as possible, so that we may discuss your options openly. We believe in being fair and transparent, so early conversations are always a good idea.

Are cats welcome on Acorn Leisure Holiday Parks?

  • Yes if their owners wish to bring them.
  • It is important for owners to be aware that dogs may also be in neighbouring Holiday Homes, and therefore decks with gates around holiday homes is always a preferable idea to keep a fury friend safe.
  • Cat owners should ensure their cat is insured when holidaying at their holiday home.
  • All cat fouling must be collected and disposed of hygienically.
  • All pets are the total responsibility of their owners and if they are guests of a holiday homeowner, then they too are responsible for their welfare and behaviour whilst on Park.

Are all Acorn Leisure Holiday Parks quiet?

  • Yes. We are a family run company and cater to owner occupiers only with no subletting or rentals.
  • All our Holiday Parks are located in the countryside and none have on-site amenities such as bars, clubs and restaurants. Our holiday homeowners are keen to create a community of like-minded people that appreciate and respect the beauty of nature and the peace and tranquillity it offers.
