Maes Mynan Holiday Parkย is a hidden gem for holiday homeowners looking for a sanctuary as their stunning country retreat, be it a luxury lodge or static caravan.

Maes Mynan Holiday Park is an owner only holiday park located in the far corner of Flintshire, North Wales. It is a tranquil countryside location for those seeking the peace and quiet of their very own luxury holiday home in the country.

Maes Mynan over the years has been in the hands of royalty. As a location it has been known as โ€˜the Arcadia of Wales, if not of Englandโ€™ (Flintshire Observer, 6 June 1873),ย โ€˜Little Switzerlandโ€™ and a sand and gravel quarry!

Today you will find a peaceful haven and a hidden gem that boasts incredible scenery and views overlooking the smooth summit of Moel Y Parc, part of the Clwydian Range and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

With a mosaic of habitat which includes lakes, grassland, wild areas and adjacent woodlands, Maes Mynan Holiday Park offers open ground nestled alongside natural vegetation, trees, shrubs, wild flowers and wildlife.

The patterns of the landscape change with the seasons, but as we have a 12-month holiday season, there is no chance of missing the delights of this special place.

Inspired by the natural landscapeย

Today, Maes Mynan Park is a beautifully located holiday park set in over 100 acres of rustic Welsh countryside, and itโ€™s 1873 accolade โ€˜Arcadia of Walesโ€™ still holds true today.

Surrounded by woodlands and majestic panoramic views of lakes, the Clwydian Range, Moel Y Parc, Chwiler Valley and the Denbigh Moors, Maes Mynan Holiday Park offers the perfect escape to the country. Perfect for those seeking a tranquil, nature inspired holiday home location in a designated Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

Locatedย  in Afonwen near Caerwys, and only 4 miles from junction 31 of the A55 North Wales Expressway, Maes Mynan Park, really does hold its own unique charm.

An old quarry evolving into parkland and an exclusive holiday park.

Once an old sand and gravel quarry in the 20th century, the site is now evolving into a beautiful mixed leisure holiday park.

With design and nature in perfect balance, phase two of the development is coming to an end.

Our first show home (now sold) was called The Llewellyn Lodge by Prestige Homeseeker, so named after the last medieval Princes of Wales, who once owned the land.

We decided to call our current show lodge by Tingdene, Maes Mynan Lodge, as it is located on plot 9 and has the spectacular central views offer the lake and Moel Y Parc.

Maes Mynan Holiday Park is the perfect holiday home location

All our holiday home lodge and static caravan plots feature panoramic countryside views and holiday homeowners still have the opportunity to secure their favourite plot, before deciding upon their dream holiday lodge or deluxe static caravan.

Our lodge and static caravan plots are located in separate parts ofย Maes Mynan Park, but they all offer something magical.

History has a part to play in the making of Maes Mynan Holiday Park

Maes Mynan Holiday Park is a very special place with an important Welsh cultural heritage that spans many centuries.

Over time, we will travel back through the ages to unearth the true story of the lands at Maes Mynan, sharing with you all that we find. However, for a sneak preview, we offer a few snippets to whet the appetite.

From a Motte, Barrow, and Mynan the Giant, to Welsh Kings, Princes and Tudor Kings, to Lords, Ladies and infighting, to farming, brick works and quarry, and now holidays, park land and leisure โ€“ we have a lot to discover!

As our research evolves, we will anchor the land’s heritage in all that we do at Maes Mynan Park. We started this historic journey by naming our first holiday lodge โ€˜The Llewelyn Lodgeโ€™, to reflect the historical ties the land once had to the medieval Welsh Princes.

We will continue to embed the history of the land in naming other areas around Maes Mynan Park, and we also plan to rediscover the legend of Mynan the Giant.

Theย industrial heritage of Maes Mynan Park is also important to us. We have retained, where possible, remnants of that history. For example, the old weighbridge is a feature to the entrance of our office, with extra pieces positioned behind our office log burner.

Then there are the large stones we discovered buried around the old weighbridge office! So we decided to include these as features in our landscaping. Sitting proud to welcome visitors, we have even created a small โ€˜Druidsโ€™ style semicircle with large shards of shale, a nod at the land’s prehistoric past and the geological make-up of the land in the surrounding valley.

The vision for Maes Mynan Holiday Park

Maes Mynan Park has been a vision of Peterโ€™s since he was 25 years of age. He always saw the special beauty of this โ€˜Acadia of Walesโ€™, even when it was a working quarry.

Today you get lost in the wonders of nature, and you can really understand why the old farmers called the place โ€˜Little Switzerlandโ€™.

As custodians of this beautiful place, we are very much looking forward to sharing this magical place with you.ย  If you would like to book a tour, and view one of our holiday homes for sale, please get in touch.
