Being surrounded by nature has many well-being benefits and makes a big difference to our daily lives, which is why a country holiday park is the perfect choice for owning a holiday home.

Bespoke lodges, luxury lodges and static caravan holiday homes make perfect comfortable spaces with home from home comforts for holidays, staycations and weekend breaks, where recharging the batteries is an integral part of enjoying the benefits offered by a country holiday park. Take a look at some of the holiday homes we have for sale.

North Wales is a popular destination for holiday home owners looking for a country retreat. As a region of Wales it offers so many possibilities – woodlands, lakes, mountains, the sea, castles, towns and culture – all within relatively close proximity of any holiday home base chosen.

As the A55 North Wales Expressway runs along the whole coast from Chester to Anglesey, it’s easy to discover new treasures and places throughout the region.

In addition, North Wales’ folklore has a hearty imagination too, including the birth of the national flag of Wales’s red dragon, who emerged victorious from Beddgelert in Snowdonia with the help of Merlin the wizard! Who could ask for more?

Here we explore 10 reasons why Maes Mynan Park, as a country retreat, is a perfect example of a country holiday park for holiday homeowners.

1. Plenty of peaceful outdoor space to unwind and relax.

Maes Mynan Park is set in over 100 acres of beautiful countryside and with spacious lodge and static caravan holiday home plots to choose from, it’s easy to extend your holiday living outdoors with large decks and glass front balustrades that make the most of the picture perfect views from a deck chair or lounge sofa.

Maes Mynan Holiday Park is a haven of natural beauty – the perfect rural retreat and escape to the country and we invite our holiday home owners to enjoy the landscape and stunning views with us.

2. Stunning Kaleidoscope Views as far as the eyes can see.

It doesn’t matter what the weather does at Maes Mynan Holiday Park, there are always picture perfect views to enjoy.

With the change of the seasons, you can enjoy the purple heathers on Moel Y Parc, the greens and russets of the woodland areas and snowy landscapes as far as the eyes can see.

Additionally, we can’t ignore the changing colours of the skies – blues, greys, pinks and orange sunsets – with cloud formations that paint a picture at all times of the day and year.

Oh and we mustn’t forget the rainbows!

3. 12-month holiday season.

With a 12-month holiday season, your holiday home on Maes Mynan Park becomes your ‘happy go to’ place at any time of the year. It means you can spend Christmas and New Year in your holiday home and enjoy weekend get always whenever you can manage it. Busy lives also need a rest and having a place to go to relax and recharge can become your lifestyle too.

Our 12-month holiday season offers you freedom to travel and stay whenever you want and because of Maes Mynan Holiday Park’s location in Flintshire, the local shops and businesses are open all year, unlike some ‘seasonal opening only’ areas of North Wales. This also includes most of our local visitor attractions.

4. South Facing Holiday Home Plots.

The majority of our lodge plots and all our luxury static caravan plots are south facing, which means you can take advantage of the sunny micro climate we have here at Maes Mynan Park when the sun shines.

Many of our holiday home owners have no trouble bronzing up in the sunshine.

Our luxury lodges are located around two lakes, whilst our static caravans are enveloped in a wooded enclave, which can easily be mistaken for the Mediterranean when the sun shines (or so our holiday home owners tell us).

5. Accessible.

Maes Mynan Park is still a hidden Gem, even though it is only 4 miles from Junction 31 of the A55 North Wales Expressway. That means Chester is only 30 minutes away and Liverpool 55 minutes. Many of our holiday home owners live within 1.5 hrs from Maes Mynan Park, so weekend getaways are easy.

Caerwys is the nearest town at only a 5 minute drive, or 20 minute walk off road on a safe public footpath. There you will find a pub, 2 shops, 1 butchers, a pharmacy, a vet, dog groomer, post office and a cafรฉ, in addition to Afonwen craft centre, which also boasts a daytime restaurant.

There are many other small businesses that support holiday home owners in the area, including takeaway services. We try to highlight as many of these businesses as we can on our on our website pages and through social media. We actively support local businesses where we can for the benefit of our holiday home owners and add new businesses as we discover them.

Caerwys as the smallest town in the UK with a Royal Charter, has seen many visitors staying in the area since the 1930’s when people would travel by train, pedal, or motor bikes to stay at the White River Camp (long since disappeared) from all over the North West of England.

The locals long ago realised that Caerwys offered something unique to its tourists and have, over many decades, offered a warm welcome to all who visit and stay: –

“…the air of Caerwys was worth moving about in, for there was no better air in the whole world than upon the table-land, upon which Caerwys stood at the edge. That was the reason why so many visitors came summer after summer to Caerwys’ – Herbert Lewis 1919 Politician and resident of Caerwys. Quote as noted in ‘Caerwys – A History Since Victorian Times’ by Dr. Tim Erasmus.”

6. Pet Friendly

We love dogs at Maes Mynan Park and well behaved dogs are welcome. There are ‘On Park’ walks, woodland and paths to exercise dogs off the lead and plenty of safe local footpaths to explore.

The added bonus is that large decks can include gates to offer a safe environment for pets. This offers you peace of mind whilst you relax, which means your furry friends don’t have to miss out on a holiday too.

7. Holiday Home Owners Only.

Maes Mynan Park is a country retreat and holiday park for holiday home owners only. There are no rentals or subletting, which offers additional security and peace of mind, as you will always know who your neighbours are. This we know is important to the discerning holiday home owner who wants to enjoy their relaxation and holiday lifestyle in the UK, without the hassle of owning a bricks and mortar second home.

8. Nature offers an improved sense of well-being

Maes Mynan Holiday Park is surrounded by nature, meaning you will feel inspired every time you visit and stay.

The picture perfect views across moorland, woodland, lakes, wild flowers, greenery and shrubbery, will always help you relax and find peace with the world.

There are plenty of local walks too, so keeping up your exercise regime, however sedate, is easy.

You are never far from nature and there is plenty of wildlife to see. Ducks, geese, badgers, rabbits, foxes and Buzzards are just a few of the animals that you will see on a regular basis at Maes Mynan Park.

Just sitting back and watching, listening and relaxing will help you recharge and boost your well-being, something we all need to do from time to time.

9. Natural beauty.

Maes Mynan Park is also located within a designated Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and overlooks Moel Y Parc, part of the Clwydian Range, across which Offas Dyke routes.

As a rural holiday park we have worked with the land to create a haven of natural beauty from what was once a sand and gravel quarry. We have also retained wild areas to support the biodiversity within the land, which has seen wildlife and fauna flourish.

We have interspersed areas of manicured land with banks of wild flowers and you will find an abundance of colour throughout spring, summer and autumn at Maes Mynan Park. Insects, butterflies and bees enjoy the nectar they all offer and my personal favourites are the Teasels that grow in the banks – when they flower they attract the bees, and when they seed they feed the small birds, while the winter frosts capture their beauty.

10.ย History.We all love a bit of culture and history from time to time, and Maes Mynan Park isn’t short on that either!

Although Maes Mynan Park is now a country holiday park, it was once a sand and gravel quarry. Before that, the land had been in the ownership of the gentry and before that royalty. We even have a giant! He maybe an ancient footnote in history, but never the less, ‘Mynan the Giant’ is mentioned in 1698, by Welsh author Edward Lhuyd and he now slumbers under the Maes Mynan Mound, a natural rising to the south of our second gravel pit lake!

Royalty have owned Maes Mynan over the centuries too, starting with the medieval Princes of Wales. Later the lands were sold to the first Welsh King of England, namely Henry VII, before it passed to Henry VIII.

As we mentioned the Welsh Dragon in our introduction, I think it is noteworthy that Henry VII also incorporated the red dragon in his standard when he became King of England and Wales, recognising the importance of the people of Wales and his birthplace.

Whilst on the Welsh dragon theme, I thought you might like to know that the Welsh Dragon weather vane that sits proudly watching over the lodge park, won first prize in the Eisteddfod in 1963. It was made locally in Caerwys and gifted to Maes Mynan Park.
