Winter | Maes Mynan Park | Snowy Countryside Scenes | North Wales

Winter at Maes Mynan Park saw some amazing snowy days, minus 10 temperatures and balmy warm spring like days all in one season.

The farmers have always referred to Maes Mynan as Little Switzerland, but when the crisp, snowy scenes unfolded this winter, you couldn’t help thinking you’d been transported to the Swiss Alps!

The lodges at Maes Mynan Park nestled perfectly into the snowy landscape, with views that stunned at every turn. The lakes froze, but that didn’t stop the ducks and geese from sheltering in the water’s margins.

The holiday homeowners, in their static caravans, also enjoyed extraordinary views. From their elevated positions, they could see snow settled on Denbigh Castle, with white Moorlands as far as the eye could see.

When the sun did shine this winter, which was often, it was warm when sheltered from the wind – so much so that the grass began to grow prematurely and grass cutting started in earnest!

Misty Waters Holiday Park didn’t escape the snowy scenes either, but on New Year’s Day the sun shone and many decided on a blustery walk on Talacre Beach to start 2023.

Spring is around the corner. The garlic leaves are showing. The crocuses, snowdrops and willow catkins, bob about in the sunshine.

It won’t be long before the first bluebell appears under the woodland canopy. The Canadian Geese, Tufted Ducks and Drakes are already active on the lakes, as are the frogs and toads. So Spring is definitely in the air!

They promise more snow for Easter, but I am sure we will have lots of spring action before then. Blossom is already blooming in front of the office, here at Maes Mynan Park.
