An arrival designed to welcome and reset

The entrance to Solhare Lodge immediately sets the tone. A calm, practical hallway welcomes you in, anchored by a bespoke bench with cubby storage for boots and shoes — ideal for countryside walks and lakeside living. Above, wood-styled cladding is paired with elegant art-deco metal coat hooks, creating a space that feels both functional and considered.

A solid front door with an oversized grab handle adds a sense of arrival, while light wood-effect flooring runs seamlessly through the space, keeping the entrance bright and uncluttered. Every detail here is intentional: practical enough for real life, refined enough to feel special.

A cleverly designed utility and drying room with additional laundry storage cupboard

Just off the hallway, a compact yet highly functional utility room acts as a discreet drying and storage space — a feature often overlooked, but invaluable in lodge living.

Character hare hooks provide a charming and practical place for coats, dog leads and outdoor gear. A stacked washing machine and separate condensing dryer maximise space, with additional storage above. Opposite, a boiler cupboard and further storage complete the room, creating a practical, organised space that supports year-round use of the lodge. The laundry cupboard, off the inner hall, has slatted wooden shelves and with a plug socket, you have the option to charge your vacuum cleaner if you prefer.

Open-plan living flooded with light and views

The heart of Solhare Lodge is its stunning open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge space — a room designed as much for being as for entertaining.

This is an exquisite, light-filled area where the layout flows naturally from one zone to the next. The dining area sits alongside a striking granite centre island, which doubles as a breakfast bar with seating for four. Black furniture pieces contrast beautifully with light kitchen cabinetry, while cream seating softens the space and enhances its warmth.

The lounge area is arranged around a unique circular four-piece sofa, positioned to take in both the views and the recessed television, which sits within bespoke shelving and cabinetry. Symmetrical shelving on either side of the room adds balance and gives the space a composed, magazine-ready feel — reminiscent of a House & Garden or Country Living interior shoot.

Two full-width bi-fold doors open directly onto the wrap-around grey composite decking, allowing indoor and outdoor living to merge effortlessly. With glass balustrades framing uninterrupted views across the lake and woodland beyond, the outlook feels close, immersive and ever-changing.

This is a room for thought, for conversation, and for simply sitting still — surrounded by what feels like a living landscape painting.

A kitchen created for gathering, not just cooking

At the centre of the lodge sits a beautifully designed kitchen that balances drama with usability. The granite island, finished in white with striking black veining, houses an induction hob with an integrated downdraft extractor, keeping sight lines clean and open.

A black sink set into matching granite worktops pairs with a boiling-water tap designed to make a cup of tea without reaching for the kettle — a small but thoughtful luxury. Integrated appliances include a fridge freezer, dishwasher, double oven and separate microwave, ensuring the kitchen remains sleek and uncluttered.

This is a kitchen designed for hosting, lingering breakfasts, shared cooking and easy evenings — not just food preparation.

Bedrooms designed for rest, privacy and calm

The hallway leads to two beautifully finished bedrooms, each with its own personality while maintaining a cohesive, calming palette.

Bedroom Two

The second bedroom features a wood-panelled statement wall above a full-width velvet grey headboard, creating a cosy yet contemporary feel. Oak-styled bedside tables flank a king-size bed, while a full wall of wardrobes and drawers provides generous storage. Interior lighting activates as doors open, revealing hidden shelving and a discreet dressing area with integrated power points.

Soft, plush carpeting in a light grey tone completes the space, making it ideal for guests or extended stays.

Principal Bedroom

The main bedroom is a striking retreat in its own right. A dramatic black velvet headboard rises to the ceiling, framed by wood-panelled feature walls that enhance the lodge’s alpine and Scandinavian influences.

Thoughtfully planned storage mirrors that of the second bedroom, complemented by a compact corner dressing table that uses space efficiently without crowding the room. Pendant bedside lights, a central feature fitting and warm LED background lighting create layers of light that shift effortlessly from day to night.

Bathrooms with hotel-level detailing

Both the main bathroom and ensuite are finished with white tiles featuring subtle black veining, echoing the granite used in the kitchen for a cohesive, high-end feel.

The main bathroom includes a bath, heated towel radiator and a vanity unit with mirrored cupboard storage. Clever detailing allows electric toothbrushes and chargers to be stored and powered discreetly within the cabinetry.

The ensuite is a generously proportioned shower room, complete with double sinks and vanity storage. Deep recessed shelving either side of the shower provides practical space for towels, candles and everyday essentials — blending function with a spa-like atmosphere.

Outdoor Living — Decking, Views and Immersive Nature

Outdoor living is an integral part of life at Solhare Lodge. The elevated wraparound composite decking, framed with glass balustrades, creates a seamless extension of the living space and draws the surrounding landscape firmly into this bespoke holiday retreat.

From sheltered seating areas beneath the generous overhang to uninterrupted views across the lake, the Clwydian Range and surrounding woodland, the setting feels both immersive and peaceful. It’s a space designed to be used throughout the day — from morning coffee to long, unhurried evenings outdoors.

Whether the two sets of full-width bi-fold doors are folded back to welcome in fresh air and sunshine, or closed on cooler days to frame the view like a living artwork, Solhare Lodge offers a connection to nature that shifts beautifully with the seasons. Subtle LED lighting enhances the outdoor space, tracing gentle lines around the lodge and creating a warm, welcoming ambience on arrival and into the evening.

The 5ft overhang to the front protects the full glass frontage of Solhare lodge and the wooden fins to the offside meet the decking to add a privacy screen and wind break, without detracting from the stunning views on offer.

“This YourRetreats lodge has been designed to bring the natural beauty of Maes Mynan Park indoors, to make every stay feel quietly special whatever time of the year you stay”.
