About Acorn Leisure Holiday Parks in North Wales

“As a husband and wife company, we treasure a relaxed, but professional way of doing business. We take our inspiration from rural retreats, great countryside locations and the rustic, woodland settings around us. We, along with our small dedicated team, aspire to help holiday homeowners enjoy their lifestyle choices, be it for enjoyment, dreams, relaxation, creating happy memories, or adventure.” Louise Barlow – Director

Acorn Leisure Holiday Parks are located in beautiful North Wales countryside and as a family-run leisure company, we strive to create relaxing and inspiring holiday parks for holiday homeowners to enjoy.

We believe in providing spectacular locations for holiday homeowners wishing to escape to the country, to enjoy space, the natural beauty of nature, peace, tranquillity and panoramic views, that only special rustic destinations offer. There are no holiday home rentals, nor subletting, which offers exclusivity and an additional layer of security to promote a quiet holiday lifestyle – an Acorn Leisure Lifestyle!

As custodians of the land on which Acorn Leisure Holiday Parks are located, it is our dream to preserve, develop, improve and share the space with our holiday homeowners.

Managing Director

Peter Barlow

Peter has been involved in the Holiday Park Industry all of his life. His passion comes from design and development.

Louise Barlow - Acorn Leisure - North Wales
Sales & Marketing Director

Louise Barlow

The great outdoors is what appeals to Louise the most, and the changing kaleidoscope of colours at Maes Mynan Park, where she is based, offers plenty of inspiration when it comes to design and marketing.

A former solicitor and managing partner, Louise joined her husband in the management of Acorn Leisure in 2004 after 16 years of practice.

With a strong affinity for the natural environment, Maes Mynan Park offers Louise plenty of scope to work alongside her husband on the development, as well as using her creativity, interior design and marketing skills to negotiate the finer details with the lodge manufacturers for Maes Mynan Park customers.

Adam Evans - Maes Mynan Park - North Wales
Trees and Natural Environment

Adam Evans

Multitasking, Adam puts his hand to most things, especially when it comes to wood, trees and nature.

Brother to Louise and father to two young boys, Adam is in tune with nature and uses his many years of experience as an aborologist to support the natural tree environment and its maintenance around Maes Mynan Park.

Adam also works the wood he fells into furniture wherever possible to create a circle of sustainability around his work across the Acorn Leisure Holiday Parks.

Harry Ball - Acorn Leisure Holiday Parks - North Wales
Groundsman

Harry Ball

Harry, a former Greenkeeper, takes great pride in caring for the grounds at Maes Mynan Holiday Park. He loves being outdoors and can be seen tending to all that grows, whatever the weather.

Harry has swapped golfing green maintenance for tending to the grounds of Acorn Leisure Holiday Parks.

Stay at home dad of two, Harry fits his work into his mornings and takes great pride in how his lawns look and always has a smile for everyone he meets.

Homeowners testimonials for our Acorn Leisure Holiday ParksΒ

We are coming to the end of our first summer as lodge owners at Maes Mynan Park. There is nothing that we can fault about the Park and surroundings.

If you enjoy wildlife, peace and tranquillity, this could suit you, however if you want night-life perhaps not!

Peter, Louise and a small team of dedicated people have turned a dream of making an old gravel quarry, and piece of land, into a lodge park, concentrating on the wonderful view over a lake, which is abundant with wildlife, and that view changes every day. They have achieved something really special and we cannot say thank you enough to them for allowing us to be able to appreciate it with them.

High standards are a priority; the park is maintained well at all times, everyone is friendly and helpful, so very hard to beat.

_____

We were looking for a Holiday Park with an emphasis on nature and came across Maes Mynan, visited that weekend, and we were hooked! Louise was really helpful when choosing our caravan lodge and sorting things when it arrived.

The site is very peaceful and there are many walks available on the site as well as into Caerwys.

The sense of community is building amongst us all as holiday homeowners, with a recent Music night helping to cement our Holiday Lifestyle here – but it’s also easy to go for total peace and quiet too.

We always say we are on Lodge time when we stay, the weekend feeling like a week. We love it!

_____

In 2020, we purchased our first Lodge at Maes Mynan Holiday Park.Β  We had no previous knowledge in making such a purchase, but Louise and Peter made the whole experience seamless.

Peters’ knowledge of the various types of lodges and caravans available was second to none. And Louise’s experience in internal layout and design gave us the perfect lodge to suit our requirements.

As for the park itself, well they say seeing is believing, and having visited many other parks before our purchase, Maes Mynan Park quite simply stood out above the rest. Offering stunning views, country walks and open spaces. This dog friendly park is also the perfect place to relax and unwind in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We have never looked back!

_______

I love having a seasonal touring pitch on The Oaks Touring Park because it suits my holiday lifestyle. I can get away anytime in between my shifts and as it is located in the open countryside, this is my peace of heaven in an otherwise very busy life with full on grandchildren and job.
