We love the idea that “Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower” – Albert Camus!
So get YOUR sense of Autumn this year and create a cosy, convivial and warm interior to your holiday home, to enjoy your downtime in beautiful relaxing surroundings any time you like.
Prepare to stop the World for a weekend, or a week or two and retreat into your holiday home to enjoy a cosy hygge with the help of your favourite stylish fiery autumnal shades of comfort.
Snuggle up on the sofa and take in the autumnal views, and hunker down against the nip that creeps into the air at this time of year. Choose a warm throw and squishy cushions to keep that cosy feeling going, so that you have a relaxing hug every time you stay in your favourite retreat!
Feed the soul with a bowl of homemade soup in hand thrown bowls and introduce new heavy linen napkins or tablecloth to bring the delights of autumnal hues into your culinary downtime. We love these hand made orange ceramic bowls from Etsy – they’ll add a splash of colour to any soup of the day!
When it’s time for an autumnal walk, take your pleasures with you. Portable picnics and a nip of something indulgent, alongside a flask of coffee, will give you the opportunity to enjoy the earthy smells of woodland, as its cloak of leaves turn the paths to a glow of fiery orange! A warm blanket will offer the best opportunities to snuggle quietly in to your very own private spot, so that you can enjoy the great outdoors as an autumnal spring. If coffee isn’t your ‘thing’, make a flask of warm cinnamon spiced berry drink, not quite a mulled wine, but something along those lines would be just as tempting.
If the sun is shining, wrap up warm, and take your reading book or sketch pad, and really enjoy a colourful autumnal time out of doors. Enjoy a feast to go with homemade treats, or something gingery, like the famous Grasmere Gingerbread with a slab of your favourite cheese.
AC from Misty Waters Holiday Park kindly introduced me to Grasmere Gingerbread and what a delight it is too!
Try your hand at a Welsh Gingerbread, with this recipe from Paul Hollywood – a tray bake with lots of yummy appeal.
Or have a go at some of these Grasmere Gingerbread recipes – they look delicious to me!
Whilst you’re out in the Autumnal fresh air, why not hunt for Lichen in the Sequoia and surrounding woodland at Maes Mynan Holiday Park. When you find some, and you will, you’ll know that you have found a nature’s paradise that offers an abundance of wellbeing qualities!
Life is all about moments in time, that mean something to you. So whether it’s sitting on the sofa taking in the view, or admiring the changing autumnal colours, or walking through Parkland and woodland, it means you can choose what inspires you most.
If it is reading your favourite book with a warming drink beside you, or cooking up something delicious to enjoy, your North Wales country holiday home retreat will offer you this and so much more.
