Winter at Acorn Leisure Holiday Parks | Maes Mynan Lodge Park | North Wales

As we reach the end of the year, and reflect on the last 12 months, we’ve decided to call 2022  ‘The Year of the Acorn’. Why? Because the early rains and hot summer, produced an abundance of large acorns.

It was wonderful to see carpets of acorns adorn the footpaths this autumn – the perfect feast for squirrels getting ready to hibernate for a cold winter.

No doubt in years to come, we’ll discover many little oak trees sprouting amongst the undergrowth – a future bumper crop of acorns in the making!

Now that autumn has faded into winter, the remaining leaves float down like snow, marking the end of 2022 – a turbulent year for many.

Temperatures dip to coat the remaining leaves with frost, while the winter sunshine sparkles on the little ice crystals.

Snow has fallen in time for Christmas, but the million-dollar question is; ‘Will it be a white one’?

Only time will tell if we have snow on Christmas Day, but the bookies have slashed the odds as we’ve all had snow already!

It was minus 10’C last night and snow, frost and ice adorn the hills as far as the eyes can see, and Acorn Leisure Holiday Parks all have a coating too.

Having a country escape as a holiday home is a luxurious way to unwind and recharge anytime of the year – a haven away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It’s the small things that soothe our souls and mind in the midst of surrounding chaos in today’s mad World.  We can never tire of the seasonal beauty offered by nature in the stunning North Wales countryside.

As we leave 2022 for 2023, we hope for a peaceful time for all.

Everyone here at Acorn leisure wish you a peaceful festive season and a Happy New Year.

We all look forward to seeing you in 2023.

Happy Christmas.
