We’re not quite there yet, but Spring is just around the corner. Already into February, it’s time to look forward and wonder about what the Joys of Spring will bring in 2025. For me, the Joys of Spring bring inspiration, hope, and new beginnings.

The Sun is out. So I sit on the bench in the dappled sunlight outside Maes Mynan Park office, close my eyes and listen. What I hear warms my heart. The happy, promising sound of peace and tranquillity echoes across the air ways, delivered by the cheeping of an abundance of small birds. A sure sign the Joys of Spring are on their way.

The little wren hops along the paving flags, dashing into shrubs, busy collecting the first signs of bugs.

The Buzzard soars high above, announcing his supremacy, cruising the thermals, waiting for his prey to creep out of the lakeside undergrowth, before he swoops. This is all whilst Archie sits beside me watching it all!

The Joys of Spring start to appear slowly this year, and as we all await the awakening of a new cycle of growth, we ponder on Nature’s wonders to renew and repair.

We’ve had a wet winter, which has filled the lakes to the highest levels so far. Now we await the return of the Canadian Geese and Greylags, in the hope that storms this year won’t upset their breeding cycle, as it did last season. Our resident tufted ducks, mallards, moorhens and coots are already busy on the lake, finding safe spots of shelter, eyeing up their nesting areas, keeping shelter from the many storms we have endured throughout January.

I had the good fortune this morning, walking beside the stream at Maes Mynan, to see the bubbling water capture the sunlight, a hearty reminder that the beauty of Spring is on its way. I saw the first shoots of wild garlic (ramsons) poking through – just waiting for the nod from Mother Nature that it’s TIME!

The snowdrops are already out, carpeting beautifully the groves of woodland, under regal ornamental trees, hedgerows, gardens and the banks of Maes Mynan Park.

The first wild crocus’ have found their sunny woodland spot and daffodil shoots are pushing through, ready to warm our hearts in time for Easter.

Every Spring I think of this poem by Welsh Poet William Henry Davies –

Leisure

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.

No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

Leisure, as a poem, epitomises why our holiday homeowners, on all our Acorn Leisure Holiday Parks, love to own a countryside second home. Far from the madding crowd, but not too far, it is their way to find peace and solace in a different nature inspired landscape, often away from more urban environments that define their everyday lives.

A holiday home at Maes Mynan Park, Misty Waters Holiday Park and Ty Bont Caravan Park, all offer something different – rustic beauty and plenty of space to enjoy quiet downtime that is a haven of nature too. What more could anyone want from a lifestyle investment that comes with owning a countryside second home, where all home from home comforts and more exist?

There is a great deal of science around how good nature is for our wellbeing. More and more people are investing in it, including the NHS and GP’s, who see that Nature Improves Our Health! But more on this in my next blog 🙂

A second home on a holiday park, be it a static caravan or luxury lodge, comes with perks that are not always available with bricks and mortar properties in communities. So if you would like to find out more about how a holiday home on one of our Acorn Leisure Holiday Parks can benefit you and your lifestyle, please get in touch at info@nullacornleisure.com or 01352 720808. Alternatively, please call Verien on 07385603288 or Louise in 07917876819.

Now imagine sitting looking out across the lakes at Maes Mynan Park. Is nature a better prescription for you and your wellbeing? It would be very easy to enjoy the colours, nature and all the reflections of the seasons, anytime of the year at Maes Mynan Park. Carw Lodge as featured below, is for sale and available to view now……
